May Festival!

Every May there's a "May Festival" where the various clubs on campus, in order to raise money for their club, have a fair day where they sell food or have games to participate in. Students will literally grab their teachers by the arms and pull them over to their booth to buy some food or souvenirs. Here are some pics of me and some of my students from last semester who coerced me to participate.

Various games to play or food to buy.

This one was hilarious. They start the music and they start bopping their heads in and out of the holes. Then you bop them on the head with that orange inflatable mallet.

Only in China. The climbing circle(club) lets you repel off the top of the main building. No prior experience, forms to sign or even helmet required.

More food that I bought.

This is something I was hesitant to put up. Also during the May Festival the Frosh/Soph class puts up a talent show in the evening with various skits, dancing and singing. Even the teachers get in on the act such as the English Conversation Dept I work in. I have no choice but to participate.

This is a silk shirt I borrowed from a Canadian who is 6'8"

Yes that's a wig.

Our dept ready to shine. My 5some danced to "I Will Survive"

Here's a shot of some excited dancers.

Ending the show with some fire. It was cold that night.
